PATH's Progress in the Past Year

PATH is pleased to announce that over the past 12 months, the association has grown by 133%! PATH now spans 3 continents in 7 countries. PATH's growth serves as a testament to the ever increasing focus on hydrogen to power the global hydrogen community.  This association has been busy since its re-energized program was adopted by the membership last year.  PATH has:

  • Created the International Hydrogen Initiatives Database
Highlights city, state, provincial, regional and national hydrogen programs that embark on a new and bold venture. It provides important information regarding these initiatives to PATH member associations. We expect this database to become an important information-sharing resource for PATH and will provide incentive for both the development of new local initiatives and greater worldwide involvement in PATH. [for members only]

  • Development of the Members’ Only site

For proceedings of PATH-hosted events, summaries of fellow hydrogen associations, contact information for hydrogen associations, association program plans, and other relevant information of interest of the membership.

  • Initiated the Special Member Pages

To be used by PATH associations as a forum to post important announcements, upcoming events, messages to the international hydrogen community, and inter association communication and dialogue. The Special Member Pages are accessible to the public at large.

  • Hosted an Executive Meeting of National Hydrogen Associations
In conjunction with the National Hydrogen Association’s Annual Hydrogen Conference 2007 in San Antonio to highlight activities within PATH associations and report on global hydrogen success stories.

  • Expansion of the Events Calendar
To encompass hydrogen events, large and small, around the globe.

  •
  • Reactivation of PATH’s Quarterly Online Forum Newsletter
As a means to distribute breaking news about activities of PATH associations, their members, and the international hydrogen community.

  • Was represented at large international renewable events
Including the All-Energy ’07 Conference in Aberdeen, Scotland in May 2007, and the International Congress of the Automotive Industry in Mexico City with an accompanying presentation to the Sociedad Mexicana del Hidrogeno in July 2007.

  • Sourcebook of Hydrogen Applications
Spearheaded a project to update it to include hydrogen information Asian-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) economies.  The Sourcebook is a product to Tisec, Inc. in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

  • Patagonian Wind Project
Through PATH, hydrogen associations in Japan and Argentina have established close working relationships in support of the Patagonian wind to hydrogen project.

Proposed future activities include:

  • Web-hosted online seminars
To focus on specific research topics, among member universities of PATH associations.

  • International speaking recruitment program
To support a quality international speaking session within the National Hydrogen Association’s Annual Hydrogen Conference 2008 in Sacramento, California, USA.

  • PATH-hosted Event or Workshop
In conjunction with WHEC 2008 in Brisbane, Australia.

  • Database of International Hydrogen Initiatives Expansion

  • Member Pages Enhancement
To include a web log or similar method of direct inter-association correspondence.

  • Higher learning of PATH
Provide universities and institutions of higher learning of PATH associations access to exchange programs with universities abroad, thereby connecting graduate students and professors of university members of one association with the needs and opportunities of other educational institutions.
