The UKHA Joins PATH

PATH extends a warm welcome to the United Kingdom Hydrogen Association (UKHA) as its newest member!  The UKHA joined PATH in March 2007 as an Affiliate Member.  One of the world's newest hydrogen associations, the UKHA was launched in May 2006 and has grown to 16 members across the United Kingdom, including industrial gas suppliers, research organizations, energy providers, SMEs and universities.

The UKHA was founded to:

  • facilitate the exchange of information,
  • develop a consensus vision for the hydrogen economy in the UK
  • distribute information about hydrogen technology to the public
  • support legislative policies in the UK favorable to hydrogen
  • educate permitting officials and policymakers about the benefits of hydrogen fuel and technology
  • promote the economic benefits of hydrogen commercialization in the UK .

John Carolin, of The Linde Group serves as the UKHA's Chairman of the Board.  Karen Hall serves as the UKHA representative to PATH.  She serves as the UKHA's Secretary and Administrative Manager.  From her presentation at PATH’s 2nd Executive Meeting in March (see "PATH Holds Its 2nd Executive Meeting of National Hydrogen Associations"), it is clear that the UK has a strong commitment to pursuing hydrogen technology, and the UKHA will work with government, business investors, educators, and innovators together to advance the hydrogen agenda in the UK.

The UKHA is headquartered in Gateshead, England, near the city of Newcastle.
